Susan Powers
Comments from Susan Powers about her approach to helping others:
My approach to helping others focuses on empowering each client to make the positive changes that will lead to a more peaceful and fulfilling life experience. I believe that each of us has everything we need to be happy inside ourselves; we just need support to help us realize our true potential. Trauma and loss can be devastating, and I feel honored to be able to walk beside my clients and support them in their journey toward healing and happiness. The most important part of my work is building a safe, trusting, and supportive relationship with each individual and family. I believe that unconditional caring and respect are key elements of a therapy relationship, and each client’s personal and spiritual beliefs will be honored and respected. Whether you have experienced a trauma, a significant loss, or just feel that something is missing in your life, I would be honored to help facilitate the change you desire in your life.

Philip Gastineau
Comments from Philip Gastineau about his approach to helping others:
My approach to therapy for individuals who see me is being a guide while recognizing the individual as the driver and creator of their success and change. I believe having an unconditional, trusting, supportive, and strength-focused relationship between you and me is the foundation of counseling and fosters the ability to recognize you can and will succeed with your personal goals. I tend to focus on how one’s emotions and thoughts affect how we view and make sense of the world around us. I use the present moment and mindful awareness as tools to help individuals understand their thoughts and feelings as they are without judgment, in order to produce personalized strategies to overcome issues preventing them from living a full life. Overall, I strive to provide a nurturing and comfortable space to help all who visit me, so we can effectively process struggles, find acceptance, and develop an understanding that you are capable of making positive changes in your life
Background and Education:
Philip received his Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN. He completed various internships working in substance use centers, college counseling centers, and community agencies throughout Northwest Indiana.
